Hey guys,
I got a price from the local shop to take out my stock exhaust and install a complete new system with LTs and HF cats. He said 10 hours of labor totaling $890.

This sounds a bit steep to me, how does it sound to you guys? What did you pay total and how many hours of labor?

It should take about 4 hours, just LT's and HF cats took my mechanic 3 hours.

U could have all bolt ons installed and a tune for that time frame

3hr job at most for most Lsx shops

HAHA, that's what I thought. Granted there is extra time to remove the stock system, but damn 10 hours!

Does anyone know a good shop in Richmond VA? This was Performance Autosport and what system is the tuner there is supposed to be awesome. I was going to get my Pedders installed, exhaust and a tune all in one shot.

This is what he quoted me:
Pedders install = $445
Exhaust instal = $890
Tune = $475

It's so sad to see so many POS mechanics these days. Thankfully however, with the power of forums, some people are fortunate enough to avoid such BS.

10hrs for labor is a joke. He just wants to rob you blind. I would let him know that I know the real deal just to see his face. Then, find a new shop.

These are the guys that Pedders recommended I have install my XA coilovers. They are supposed to be a good shop and the tuner is supposed to be good, but damn!

That is what I have heard and I spoke to Steve on the phone for 20 minutes and I get the feeling he gets results! That is why I wanted to do it all there. So how do I call this shop back and politely tell him he is full of shit LOL.

The other thing that pissed me off was that unless i was installing Kooks, AR, or SW then he wasn't going to do the job LOL!

Are you sure that wasn't for the coilovers AND exhaust?

Me and GTAHVIT did my headers and exhaust on jackstands in about 4 hours.

It should take longer for the coilovers than the exhaust.
