Headlight Warranty question

I'd say over the past 2 months, my passenger side headlight has been going out. So of course, I replaced the bulbs and kept having the same issue. I figured that since I was buying cheap bulbs, I was getting what I paid for. I put the stock bulbs back in and everything was working ok until maybe about a week ago. So again I replace the bulbs and got them from bfxenon. Same issue on the passenger side only now the light flickers for a sec and cuts right back off. I take it to the dealer and they tell me that seeing as how I've got aftermarket parts (AAC halos) the issue cannot be fixed under warranty. I guess that makes sense as the assembly had to be taken apart to put the halos in. My concern is about the amount they're charging to have this fixed. Roughly $523.00. Parts and labor. I was told that the balast cost $223.00 which I highly doubt. I mean, I've seen some on eBay for at most $120.00. But I'm kind of at their mercy cause I can't drive safely with one headlight and could get a ticket. But I've had those halos in for well over a year and this just started happening within the last two months. Any fellow members had a similar issue, or suggestions for me..? Thank!

It is probably the ballast...couldn't you swap it out yourself? I wouldn't trust the ebay part on this one though, unless it is OEM.

have you been touching the bulb area before install? the oil on your finger tips will shorten the bulb life

Got it back frI'm the dealer. The malady was tested and it was bad. It ended up being roughly 460 altogether rather than 523. Still can't believe that that ballast by itself is 223. I tried looking for the part myself and just couldn't find one outside of eBay..

From my experience I never put aftermarket bulbs in cars. I used the cheap blue ones on eBay and it ended up burning the wiring. I probably will go with more professionals like AAC.
