Converter for Blown L99?
Hey guys,
I have recently installed a whipple with a 3.8 pulley on my L99. CAI, headers...making about 550 rwhp. What do you ya'll think about a "looser" converter? 2,800 billet?

I just talked to Chris Sehorn from Circle-D last week about a converter for my camaro. I`m running a similar combo to yours and he recommended a 265mm version of their converter with a stall speed in the 2500-2700 RPM range. I sent him cam specs and a dyno print out. The 265mm is not on the Circle-D web site yet. you can email him yourself and get some good info from a pro.
askchris@circle-d.info I`m sure he can give you some great advice and the price was right also. |

Any quality converter will do. Precision, pro torque, fti, yank, circle d, etc etc etc . I went with a Precision 2800. I'm supercharged and cam'd.

We have done a few 3200rpm Circle D Converters in Gen 5 and they really shine at the track.

I have a Pro Torque from Jannetty and it is perfect, The convertor is 94% efficiant which is unheard of. My precision that I took out was only 84%. Its like night and day.

Protorque is that Unheard of Mastermind of Torque converters, I have been working with them since 1998. I have used all major brands and IMO No one builds a better more efficient converter. Protorque currently Holds Many ET Records in Promod, Outlaw 10.5,and drag radial and many others. Take a good Look At Protorque, SuperchargedSS has one in his car for quite some time now. Ted.
