The higher your altitude, the lower octane fuel you can use. That's why 93 octane is unavailable for some.

My choices are 87, 89, and 92/93 depending on the station, but I always use Shell or BP because the price is the same as the crap stations.

Shell 93. It's the ONLY top tier gas station in my area. Only if it wasn't from over seas..

I use to White Castle!!...

But on a serious note I use Shell 93...

I don't understand V6 owners who put anything other than regular in their cars.

I felt the same way too until I started running Premium. It's a known fact the ECU will pull spark timing when you run regular fuel. When you run premium, you're squeezing a little more power out of the car. I personally notice the car running better and stronger while running premium. And the difference is only a dollar or two per fill up.

Shell 93 with a Chevron Techron bottle every 7500 miles. I may switch to non-ethanol gas soon. There is a small local grocery place a few miles from me that carries non-ethanol 87 and premium octane. I am tempted to try it.

How to hug your camaro
Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

Truth,
The Low-Down on High Octane Gasoline

Are you tempted to buy a high octane gasoline for your car because you want to improve its performance? If so, take note: the recommended gasoline for most cars is regular octane. In fact, in most cases, using a higher octane gasoline than your owner's manual recommends offers absolutely no benefit. It won't make your car perform better, go faster, get better mileage or run cleaner. Your best bet: listen to your owner's manual.
The only time you might need to switch to a higher octane level is if your car engine knocks when you use the recommended fuel. This happens to a small percentage of cars.
Unless your engine is knocking, buying higher octane gasoline is a waste of money, too. Premium gas costs 15 to 20 cents per gallon more than regular. That can add up to $100 or more a year in extra costs. Studies indicate that altogether, drivers may be spending hundreds of millions of dollars each year for higher octane gas than they need.

I buy Costco or Safeway.
I get 10 cents off each gallon for every $50 spent on groceries at Safeway.

BP isn't on that list because they won't allow their fuel to be tested. They say the standards for the test aren't high enough to determin "top tier" fuel. In my experience, BP is better than any other fuel. I wouldn't use Shell if it was free.

93 only. My car is tuned for it.

466 RWHP on 93 from Chevron.

My station choices:
1. Chevron
2. Shell
3. Sunoco
4. Exxon
5. If I have to stop elsewhere I'll only get enough to get to the next chevron.

Truth to some extent. That was written prior to vehicles coming with different timing tables and as such can actually switch between different tables based on whether you're running regular or premium...
