Windshield chips whos got em??
Im talkin about the smaller ones white dot looking in appearance not ones that have any sort of fracture or crack. I swear i cant win got one last night in the rain and i am not a tailgater i was more then 20 car lengths back owell fml!!!! It just sucks... she just turned 3,000 miles but luckily its not in my driving line of sight. i knew it would happen sooner or later but dam not this soon :( just wanna know im not alone ha

I have a huge scratch in the rear window. It's a scratch from top to bottom. No clue how that is even possible. None of the paint is damaged either.

I got one not 50 miles from the dealer, on passenger side, just unsightly but it will piss you off.

have'em in mine too, bought it like that. Really want to get a new windshield. Anyone know how much a new windshield costs?

I've got one too . I stay off the interstate as much as possible and try not to tailgate .
The last few cars that I've owned it seems the glass is'nt what it used to be . Chips and pockmarks very easily . |

Yeah.. but 1/4 inch big ones.. Not to mention my front splitter (gfx) looks like a pin cushion.. That's not as annoying as the window though, I think they cost more than a splitter repaint with a S ton of clear coats.
Is there some type of 3M coating for windows? |

I had just washed/dried/waxed mine, cleaned up the interior and was heading on the highway to pick up my little ones from school. All my windows were down, beautiful 75 degree day with no clouds, radio was blaring and overall feeling good. That's when it happened. It was slo-mo as this POS half broke down pickup that was beat to hell was a considerable distance ahead of me when the rock was kicked up. I watched it bounce once and right into the lower portion of my windshield with a huge thwack! Fortunately, it just left a minor ding in the glass, but it pissed me off and ruined a good 15-20 minutes of my day.

I had a chip on the upper passenger side of my windshield and within a couple of days it spidered across the windshield so I had to get it replaced.
Just an FYI, I have a 2010 SS and the windshield was around $400 installed, if I wanted the 2011 windshield that is supposed to be HUD capatible the price went up to $1200. I eventually wanted HUD but I wasn't going to pay that much money for a new windshield because it was coming out of my pocket. I had Hagerty insurance and the windshield repair wasn't covered, I no longer have my insurance with them. Russ |
