SiriusXM worth getting?

I was considering getting SiriusXM off and on since I got my camaro last month. I was mainly wanting it for 50s, 60's, 70's, 80's, Hair Nation, Boneyard, Octane, and the kiddie stations (for nephew).

I tried to see if my car had a trial available, but XM said it didn't. If I get it, is it easy to cancel if I change my mind? Can I cancel through the site, or over the phone only?

As of right now I'm using pandora through my iPhone, and so far that seems ok.

I have it. They do specials if you complain enough. IMO, it isn't worth the $14 a month (or whatever it is now.)

I call (sometimes it take 3-4 calls) and get them to give me the 5 month for $20 deal.

If I was you, make sure you have them invoice you for whatever you get. Don't give them any credit card info. If they tell you that you have to have a CC on file, don't listen to them.

If you really want to, though...get a prepaid visa card and give that to them. The have a bad habit of not actually canceling your account when you call to cancel.

Good luck

I'm surprised you didnt get a trial account. My car came with a 6 month trial. Theyre starting to call me now to get me to subscribe. They dropped it down to $60 flat per year but I turned it down. With phone apps like Pandora and Iheartradio its not worth it to me to pay for XM. And theyre argument is always...."but Pandora has commercials..." Yes they do, a 15 second commercial every 6- 8 songs......I can deal with it. XM does the same thing

It also depends on the type of music you listen to and where you're located. When I lived in FL I loved the radio stations out there and would not have purchased sat radio. When I moved to WA I could not find a radio station I like so sat radio and ipod are the only thing I listen to.

It's free until 11-30-2011, well at least some of it, like 60 channels

Hmmm. If it's a brand new car, you get a year free. My wife and I ended up getting the lifetime. It's a good deal if you listen to the radio a lot. Otherwise it's a huge expense for naught. We love it. Only thing that's pissed us off about it of late is they dropped BBC One. Sucked. Otherwise good stuff.

If they invoice me for the sub, wouldn't they have a way to auto charge me then? I know I get billed monthly for netflix through paypal.

Shame I missed a week of the free xm radio. Listened to some of it today and like the stations. Is that all the ones you get though for the cheapest suub? I thought there were more kid stations on it.

The quality on the audio seems pretty good. I would call, but their hours are during my work hours, and my lunch Im pretty much tied up. Is there a way for them to do it all through email or the site?

No, they dont have a way of auto charging you if you dont give them a credit card. They just mail an invoice to your house.

I love the channels, but I have an issue with XM receiver in the camaro. I find the reception is not as good as the stand alone units. Plus you can tag favourite songs on the stand alone units.

After my year was up, I got rid of the XM service and bought a car kit so I could use the stand alone radio that was in my truck in either vehicle.

I should point out that I'm in Calgary Alberta. That may be why I was having reception problems with the XM radio. However, locations where my XM radio in the camaro would lose signal, my Sirius radio worked fine.
