camaro ls speed limited
Has anyone experienced the screen saying that your speed is limited to a certain amount. Because I was going 120 mph and it said speed limited and it wouldn't let me go any faster.
thanks |

For V6 yes, I think that range is about right.

Since you have an LS yeah it's limited to around 118 or so. If you had gotten an LT with the RS package the limit is set at 155, this is due to the tire speed rating that comes on your car.

You'll need a tune. If you plan on going past the limit, you'll need better tires unless you plan on having one blow out while going 120+ MPH.

It can be tuned out. I don't think the dealer would because of liability reasons though.

What is the limit on a 1LT with No RS package? I won't ever challenge it, so I figured I would ask in here instead.

I didn't think that the SS was limted since it is stock with zr rated tires. Unfortunately I didn't really have it long enough to test that, but I wasn't aware they too were governed.

Any Camaro that left the lot with 18" wheels and BFG tires came with a 118MPH limiter, the safe limit for those tires. The Camaros with the 20" combo (Pirelli, etc) is 146MPH I think. The ZL1 may be different.
