Since the original baseline numbers were a bit lower than anticipated I had a hunch that lifter preload was incorrect. Going on that hunch we lifted the valve covers to check preload. Needless to say this is why you just don't throw in the pushrods that come in a "kit". Lifter preload on intake was .130" and exhaust was .125" ...
Also it's nice that everything was impact gunned down, as you can see we needed to use a 2' breaker bar to break rocker bolts loose... |
