have it on my 2010 SS and it is great! (I know you said 2012, but figured I'd respond) Great throttle response, but I have a lot of other mods as well. It was one of the last, and I did notice a difference. I would think it would be even more noticeable as an early mod.
Just my opinion though.......

I contacted a local speed shop and they told me they wouldn't recommend changing the OEM TB. I told them I really wanted to buy one and they told me no! Because if I wasn't happy with it I would want to return it.

From what I've read some people said it made a significant difference, others said it made no difference. I figured it had something to do with other mods that are already on the car.

I would like to know from first hand guys that installed it when their engine is stock, not mod'ed w/ a turbo or racing cam, etc.

I put one on my 2012 after the CAI and catback. It made a more noticeable difference than either of the other two. I have no idea whether it added power at the top end. I won't pretend to be able to feel 5 or 10 horsepower difference wide open at 5000 RPM. The big difference is throttle response at low RPMs which was improved a lot. It was well worth the money.

I hate to say it but there's dozens and dozens of threads about the Vmax ported TB. You could spend days reading all the posts.
Here's some good reading. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...ht=vmax+ported

Well, I was just about to start a thread about mine, but since this one's already going....

Just installed mine today. I went for a spin around the block and it feels good. The throttle response is definitely better. When it was stock, it was as if the throttle wasn't "touchy" enough. I have a Jeep and the throttle on that thing feels way more sensitive. Not the Camaro feels better, too. I will have to put some more miles on it, but it's great so far.

BTW, can someone with the V8 verify there is no gasket (see last pic). I pulled my stock TB off and there wasn't a gasket like I've seen in some install threads.

No gasket. That big blue o-ring seals it up. Good way to put it about the throttle not being touchy enough. That's exactly what I was trying to say.

Cool, thanks.

I want to go on a longer test drive, but I am stuck waiting around for RotoRooter...:(

Sold half a dozen this week....some 2012's. But like the guys mentioned, it's all SOTP Seat of the Pants feel more than anything.

I can tell you that I feel that pickup mostly right after initial take off....where it felt flat, it doesn't anymore.

If that makes sense.

I installed mine last year on my 2010 SS and immediately noticed the quick response. I have a Roto-Fab CAI and Flowmaster cat back, nothing else, yet.

You can always return it......we offer a buy back guarantee. Over 2900 of these on cars over the past years and no returns yet. I would say your local shop should email one of us for details. This is not like they have probably experianced with hand ported units....these are CNC pattern ported.

I bought mine from SC and absolutely love it..
When they send you one i'd try swapping them back and forth for a couple of runs around the block (it only takes ~10 minutes to swap it).. If you don't like it just send them theirs back!
