Hmmm...have you raced one? I take it, you don't trust the numbers from the MT rag? (or others?).

Just trying to figure out how I went neck and neck (both winning and losing) when I was stock (vs stock) in a variety of racing "events"

I guess I should consider myself lucky. Certainly must have been luck instead of a drivers race. But I digress and will play along...

Racing these cars using identical robots that can drive consistently and have perfect launches, shifts, same amount of fuel and type etc..yes, then mathmatically the 427r should win everytime...of course, that happens on the street a lot in a delusional world

Which is why some people just wont give up.

Face it guys, the 427R has more power and is lighter. The Camaro SS is an impressive car, but it's slower than a 427R.

The 427r should be quicker/faster than a 2010 SS with competent driving.

It's too close to determine a consistent, overall winner. Too many uncontrollable variables to say one over the other. Only thing you can say is it's a driver's race with the edge/advantage going to the 427R. How many people have lost to cars, on paper they shouldn't have and how many have beaten cars, on paper, they shouldn't have?

Great white....that doesn't affect which car is faster then another. If that's the case, anything is a drivers race (which it is, to an extent).

I'll say it again, because there seems to be a lot of confusion. THE 427R IS FASTER THEN THE CAMARO SS

You are correct with everything equal. I was taking it as the OP in the real world with variables.

lol, sooooo true. I couldn't launch for shit in my Terminator. Atlanta Dragway is notorious for having shit for prep but the best I could muster there on 275 street tires was 13.2@116 with a 2.3 60'. I was spinning all the way too(not an exaggeration). Talk about scary...

Well, I'm too lazy to post the numerous posts on numerous forums, the times the 427r has been putting down.

If anyone pleases, google "stock 427r times" and enjoy a wealth of information provided by real 427r owners and see for yourself the typical low 13s, less than 110mph trap speeds for $55k when a Camaro SS can do the same for $20k+ less.

THERE SEEMS TO BE SOME CONFUSION INDEED...that it is a drivers race, heck even mustang owners balk at the price vs performance aspect of this car

OP also depends if it was an AUTO or Manual, stock Auto's usually run around 12.9's-13.3's but just a tune really wakes them up.

Stock for stock= drivers race.
Unless you are very modded, your car doesn't produce near the TQ of the car in question.

It's the same at my local track. Seen the 500hp Shelby with CAI, pulley, cat/axleback(?) 75shot on street tires run, all day, 13.1@119. He put DRs on and could only manage a 12.6. I know someone else with a 03 Cobra 550whp that has bested a 12.8@118. SHE usually would run a 13.1-13.4. I ran dead even with her from 45-115 with a 100% completely stock 02 SS LE M6. But from 115-125 she pulled 1-2 cars on me.

well, either the 427r needed a driver mod, or my car was faster by a half car. just sayin.

Don't always have to be faster than the other car/guy, just have to be fast enough. If the car beside you is 5% faster than your car and you can get 95% out of your car and the other guy can only get 88%, you win.
