New Car - Camaro 1LE

I recently added a 2013 Camaro 1LE to my stable, has a nice build to it. Got it primarily for another fun car, and to use as my track car. The car will 2-4 track days a year, mainly driven in nicer weather, and have some "spirited" driving when driven.

I just had a track day at Road America, it was a blast, planted, fast and very well behaved on the track. Only real issue was after some hot laps the brakes were the first weakness I noticed.

So I am looking to upgrade the rotors/pads and curious was you all are using.

My second questions is oil. I have recently converted my Trans Am and Viper over to Mobile 1 0W-40. I was thinking of doing the same to the Camaro. Some guys still recommend the 5W-30 or 10W-30, but I know a lot of people are going to the 0w-40 and curious what you guys are doing.

Last question....your preference on oil filters

Appreciate any feedback you guys can offer, excited to join this forum!! First car was a 1969 Camaro, so I had vintage looking hockey stripes added, love it!!

Thanks! Cars build and pics below

Amazing garage! Nice find on the 2013 1le, don’t see many around! On my 1Le I installed R1 Concepts slotted and dimpled rotors with hawk pads.

Very nice. Badass stable.

Brakes - Might as well go for ZL1/CTS-V brakes for the front (rears are the same). You get larger 2-piece rotors, 6 piston calipers. OEM brakes are undersized for the weight of the Gen 5 SS/1LE for track pace.

You can get the AC Delco parts for reasonable money. I paid 330ish a piece for the rotors and calipers from Amazon. There is a thread on here somewhere that list part numbers. I wound up with CTS-V calipers, so they need to be stripped/repainted and labeled if you want the red calipers. Bargain money for a decent BBK upgrade.

For pads, have a chat with G-Loc. G-Loc was started by some of the people that started Carbotech - some of my favorite pads ever (especially for track use).

Brake ducts would help, but it's a bit of a pain with the '13.

ACDelco 177-1146 passenger side rotor
ACDelco 177-1145 driver side rotor
ACDelco 172-2488 passenger caliper

ACDelco 18K2108X brake caliper hardware kit

Good ridge 12227 stainless lines that fit the zl1 calipers

Very nice! Your build is similar to mine before I added a Supercharger. My tuner recommends Mobil 1 0W-40 for it so that’s what I use.

Yes, it was a great find. Only 26k miles, great build, and interior still smells like a new car. I’ll have to look into those.

I’ll look into that, not sure I want to go that far yet.

I’m thinking I’m going to go with the 0W-40. Why did they choose to go with that oil.

I used to have that Lambo poster you have in your garage when I was a kid in my room. Also had the Red one. I might still have them in a box somewhere.

Nice stable. Welcome to the forum. The wife and I were talking about the Viper last night. Enjoyed that car, but never quite got to love the sound of the V-10 over the V-8. Sounded like a damn tractor sometimes!
