push button start?

I was just wondering if there was any plans for the camaro to get the push button start in the near future like the corvette has. I love the push button start and the idea of not having an actual key. Also i like how you can not lock you key in the car. That is a big pluss.

All evidence points away from this.

I was wondering the same thing, considering they are putting in the push starts on just about everything now (nissan, toyota, etc...) It would be one of those extra bonuses of making a revival of a classic, modernized. Just my .02

GM has been pretty open about what options they are thinking about adding and what options will appear at later MY's. Of the options they have told us about, push button start was not one of them. This doesn't mean that it won't be added later, just that they are not currently looking at adding it in the near future.

I think that if they were going to offer it they would have done it from the beginning, so I don't see it happening. I was little surprised they didn't offer it since the 2SS and 2LT are so heavily equipped. I locked my keys in my car a couple weeks ago; I wish I had a keyless ignition then!

From OPs 1st post in this line .. he was wondering about the near future not currently ..

I for one am dissapointed that it didn't come with keyless start / unlock etc .. my last 2 cars have had this and it is a very nice feature ..

No.

It's an intentionally retro design.
