They are sold by GM as demo models. I think GM has a sale where they offer them up to dealers as demo models. Then you can buy them from a dealer as a dealer demo. They are generally discounted by some amount. My mom has a Jeep Commander like this.

EDIT: You would NEVER get one of these sold to you to fill a new car order.

Not sure exactly how this will be sold, but they are sold as used (so discounted from new pricing). Company cars can sometimes be "tagged" by other GM employees or can be sold at auction.

I know! What are the odds-I felt like all the people that reacted to us! I had not seen any in MI until my husband pulled in the drive a couple weeks back and we live not far from Milford? And I was looking!

So in other words, that guy who was touting the Mustang and arguing that the Camaro was "imaginary" and that we can't count "prototypes" was full of crap. This is a real car that a real person will own one day, and NOT a preproduction test mule...

I didn't see those comments but yes, these are saleable cars. They will be owned by some normal person eventually.
