Would like to do a compilation of L99 Header, CAI & Tune dynographs

Hey guys,

I am trying to see if we really will run out of steam at around 360rwhp & 380rwtq on the L99 w/ only Headers (ok if it has a axleback as those are really only for sound), Cold Air Intake, and a Tune. Must be on a Dynojet SAE corrected so we can compare apples to apples. The Data I have so far suggests this.

1. GMRULZ: 362rwhp 381rwtq. ARH 1 7/8 headers high flow cats, stock mufflers, ADM race intake, CarolinaAutomasters tune. Dynojet SAE .
2.Tanner 363rwhp 379rwtq. ARH headers w/ cats, borla axleback, Rotofab CAI, tune. Dynojet SAE
3.Number_9 365rwhp 382rwtq ARH 1 7/8 headers, ADM/Magnafloz z-pipe, ADM Race CAI, ADM tune. Dynojet SAE
4.Ted Jannety 370rwhp 387rwtq Kooks 1 3/4 headers, Kooks full exhaust, JRE tune, Cold Air inductions CAI(**NOTE Ted`s is on a Superflow Dyno some may not wish to include it for apples to apples but I want to leave it for reference**)
5. IPS Brandon 361rwhp 376rwtq Stainless works 1 7/8 headers, LMR CAI, IPS tune, stock axleback.
6. SGOS252382 350rwhp, 360rwtq Kooks 1 7/8 headers w/ cats, LMR CAI, Magnaflow exhaust, Formato tune
7. melson 375rwhp 381rwtq ARH 1 7/8, magnaflow 3 inch catback, ADM CAI, ADM Protune

So far on the dynojets sae corrected horsepower is all w/in 4rwhp and torque w/in 6rwtq.

Bolt on best before blower 12.22@113.29 w/ nothing but ARH headers, catted x-pipe, ADM CAI and a tune on stock Pzero`s!

Other car 2008 C6 Ls3, z51, A6, Npp Exhaust, best bonestock pass 11.80@118.82, Number 2 on the Corvette Forums Bonestock fastest list..

I have headers in the garage. Once I get my Vararam installed I'll do the headers and get it dyno'd. I won't be able to get a baseline dyno the same day though for the headers, I will for the Vararam kit though.

Thanks man! for this compilation I`m not worried about a baseline, just want to see what headers, intake and tune (needs to have at least these 3 mods) will make on a L99 and see if everyone hits the same wall or not. Only stipulation is Dynojet SAE corrected numbers.

Were did you get your car tuned? My tune only L99 only made 330 rwhp at a Mustang Shop over in St Pete Fl (in 94 degree temps with high humidity).
But my car runs strong. It was trapping 108 - 109 mph at BMP a few weeks ago. In cooler air (like the guys run in up north), it would have been trapping in the 111 - 112mph range.

I've got Kooks' 1 3/4 Heades on order. When I get the headers I'm going have it re-tuned. I'm hoping from 12.4 - 12.5s @ 112 mph with
CAI, LT Headers, GMPP mufflers, tune.

My L99 was the test car for Diablo Sports so I have arranged to see them again when I get the VR intake. Mine was also tuned in the middle of summer with high temps and humidity.

After DS tests and tunes th VR kit I'm adding my Dynatech headers. I'm expecting the same track performance you are. My SAE corrected tune only is at 343rwhp so I'm hoping to be close to be at 365-370 with the intake and tune plus +25-30 with the headers. Maybe I'm too optimistic?

If the it was a dynojet and was SAE corrected it wouldn`t matter too much on the heat unless the computer was pulling timing due to the heat as SAE correction makes everything else even no matter the temp.

I`m hoping for 12.5`s at 112 also in good air. We shall see.

Toehead,
I`m doing this mainly to see if we hit a wall on these due to the stock camshaft. So if you hit 370+ish on a dynojet SAE corrected then thats not the case. I have found 2 other L99`s and they put down almost identical numbers w/ similar mods and one added a FAST intake and only saw 3rwhp and 4rwtq. I`m not sure the L99 will make more power w/ out a new cam or forced induction or nitrous. Also having heard this might be the case from my tuner and Andy from ADM in Camaro1`s fast thread.

I have a Roto-Fab CAI now. Am installing ARH 1-3/4" LTs w/cats tomorrow AM and getting tuned at LMR tomorrow afternoon. Will post my dyno afterwards.

Here is one of mine....the 349/367 is Headers only...no CAI.

Tune and Headers...my shop's dyno is a little conservative also, 500 miles on the motor at the time.

Here is mine with ARH long tubes with X-pipe and high flow cats, Borla S Type Axle Back and Roto-Fab CAI. She came out with 363 RWHP and 379 RWTQ.
