5th gen vs 4th gen

2LT/RS Only had it for about a month now, and so far, ive had 3 4th gens try and race me. Ill just be driving down the highway and they seem to come find me out of nowhere, pull up next to me, and want to race. I just ignore them.

This is my first camaro, so im not sure how mine would fare up against 4th gens. whats the differences in power?

if its a v6 4th gen you will smoke them
but if its a ss or z28 they will eat you alive
the ss will literally be door to door with the new ss
the z28 not so sure but the z28 will out run the v6

Z28 is basically as quick as the SS in the 4th gens, so take on the V6s, but leave those 2 alone.

the 5th gen has a huge power advantage, but the problem is power to weight ratio, its hundreds of pounds heavier. Plus a lot of 4th gens have at least some light mods on them making them the equal of the new ones. Stock for stock though a 5th gen should edge out the old ones but not by much.

My 4th gen SS and 5th gen SS have about the same mods on them, and my 4th gen will actually beat my 5th gen. The 5th gen is just heavy.

Might be a good idea to refrain from racing on public roads especially if you don't know the competition.

They are more than likely just excited to see a new Camaro on the roads and want to see/hear that engine move Just drop the peddle for a lil bit and give them a show

So is this thread telling me my 4th GEN ss, with power programmer, Borla cat back exhaust, K&N filter, will actually out run my completely 5th Gen stock 1ss? The red one is for sale by the way.

It all depends on who you talk to. I've seen several races (stock vs stock) and the 2010 Camaro SS pulls on the 4th generation Z28 on the top end everytime. I also owned an LS1 z28s (4th gen). It was slower than my 2010 Camaro based on track times (mod vs mod).

The V6 2010 Camaro is no match from a 4th generation Z28 (LS1). It would make a decent match against a 3rd generation Z28 (LT1). Most stock LT1 z28s run in the 14s. The problem is most of the stock LT1's run like crap now.

The V6 2010 Camaro is much faster than all the previous V6 Camaros.

I've ran two 4th Gen SS Camaros and pulled on both of them. My car is similar to yours, it has a CAI/tune and full exhaust. I do have the 3:31s though. I've not ran a 5th Gen SS yet.
