Use Chevy's paint. You can buy spray cans. Your choice in flat or gloss - depends on what look you're going for. I'd clear coat it also - also depends on gloss or matte - the look you want!

My car is black, so when I order it I want it the same gloss black with gloss clear coat

Hmmmmm.... I've read that it's best to have a shop painted, better prepping for paint not to peel down the road...

I personally would like to paint it myself, so what could one do to prep correct and get a good quality job from some garage dudes like us????

Cleaned the grill with wax and grease remover
Prepped with a grey scotchbrite pad.
Cleaned again
Taped the non-painted area off and wiped it down with prep sol
Sprayed it with 2 coats of adhesion promotor
Primed with dupont high build primer
Wet sanded with 600
Cleaned again
Sprayed the color and clear using Dupont ChromaBase

Alot of work but worth it.

For longevity, I'd have a shop paint it. Spray bombs can't match a shop painted finish for durability long term. I had mine done for about a hundred bucks, iirc.

get it done professionally...

best way to go if you arent a paint pro.

may cost more now, but in the long run you wont regret it.
