racking your camaro

hey guys just figured id pass this along, when i rack my camaro in the shop i always use hockey puck on the contact point to prevent any damage or marks. It works awsome and you cant tell where the vehicle was racked when your done,i have told customers of mine to purchase 4 pucks and keep them in the car so if there at another shop there good to go,its a cheap way of keeping your undercar undamaged,im sure there are more than a few camaros out there with crushed pinch welds from careless racking and the owners have no clue, well thats my two cents from someone thats been there

I guess you never touched a hockey puck.

they are solid rubber, and pretty hard. Try cutting or drilling one sometime.
They are tough!

Yup, a good idea. The shop I use puts wood blocks under their rack. I have lift pucks on my 2 floor lifts when I jack her up

Thumbs up

Great idea and a great post with the pictures.

This is very popular with Corvette owners.

Could you do something like this with a regular floor jack? I have a central hydraulics jack that a puck may fit in the cup and if I could jack from the side it would be great.

Also what about using a jacking puck? Where would you get such a thing?
Cheers
K

lol...

How did you guess? lmao We don't do hockey down this way. I've yet to see one in real life.

Looks like a good idea, I was just looking at it and thought "what the heck happens if theres a small crack in it." Looks like it would just start ripping apart like a block of cheese.

Didn't mean to offend,
Ivan
