Nice! I got the same set up and upgraded the springs to 9psi. I thought of ceramic coating the pipes after install however and got them done except the cooler --> TB pipe because of having to remove the front bumper to remove light. One day when I have spare time I suppose. Also coated the turbo and down pipe.
After tune I am making 550rwhp/540rwtq Good luck with the rest of your build! |

Rich, those are awesome numbers how much boost? LS3?
So I am having 3 issues maybe u guys can help me out. My A/C is blowing hot air when the car starts and when I start driving. I have to turn it off and on for it to begin blowing cold air. Never did this before the install. Under the hood it is very very hot. My shop was concerned, but I was told by many people to get the ceramic coating done. I believe I have a 1700 degree coat. Autometer pillar is sagging at the very top is their a fix to this? |

What are you guys doing for oil temp? I am going to do the Zl1 hood and remove the lower grill/ custom deflector to help with temps under the hood....

I have the ZL1 hood on mine Im actually painting my hood scoop right now so its completely off the car, but even with a huge hole in the hood its so hot under there.

Im at 9lbs of boost. When I bought the kit it came with 6lbs springs though. Apparently there is an option for getting the higher lbs springs that I missed lol. It's on a 2010 L99 making those numbers. All stock internals for engine. LSXR manifold, Borla cat-back atak exhaust, custom SCT dyno tune, 630cc injectors that the kit comes with, and a built rear end by JRE (3.45 gears, 1000hp axles, BMR trail arms) And I think that's all the upgrades for performance that I've done iirc I do all my own ceramic coating as I have a paint shop and oven to do all the parts. So i used [a lot!] 2000*F primer/paint/clear coat, and then threw a DEI titanium turbo blanket on it. My first turbo i had no blanket and no ceramic and it was super hot in the bay. This combo I have now has drastically reduced the temp. I don't feel the supplied blanket does the job it needs. Next I will be doing the Terminator Style CF hood. That will be the best air flow I can get in there to reduce temps. As for the AC, I still have a problem with it only blowing warm air. The heat works amazingly, but the coldest it will get is luke warm even after a recharge. But I always ride with the windows down in all my cars so I don't really care. Make sure you keep an eye on the Power Steering reservoir though. My set up before re-doing it all to current was so hot the fluid expanded too much and kept coming out of the top. All my coolant and oil temps are actually pretty low for everything that's going on with it. *knock on wood* and I've yet to have any problems with that. Definitely get yourself a catch can though!! |
