She has made some killer passes and if you want to go faster/quicker in the quarter you made a smart move. You can only do so much with the weight of a public vehicle. Just so you know I have all the ZL1 goodies that were taken off when I had my upgrade. 6700 km on them. Still fresh and ready to bolt on. I was thinking about making a ratrod and building up an LS3 with all my ZL1 part for the quarter. I'm looking at a couple years before I'm ready but if you'd like my parts for your next project I'd give you a great deal.

ok..I am officially lost on this post. You built up your ZL1 for 3 years and your wife's car is faster? What am I missing here. Part of owning a manual is just for the shear fun of having full control of the gears. As for 1/4 mile times autos may be a little faster on the shift but I am sure that with lots of practice the times would be extremely close.

The further from stock the cars are the more the auto is faster and faster.

My wife's ZL1 auto runs 10.50's with a cam and bolt ons. It took a whole lot more to get my manual to run the same times and never consistently. Bog off the line or 1 missed shift and run was blown. I wanted to take that out of the equation.

Man, I'm bummed!! I wanted to see this Monster 6M set-up run down the track. I was guessing low to mid 140 track speeds in - DA. There has got to be more to this story on why you went another direction.

Good luck regardless in the Auto. It will fly with the right combo and be very consistent. No way near as fun to drive however on the street/strip/road course (which I can't wait to finally do in a 6M).

Damnit Man!!

Sorry nassty. Not much more to story. We screwed around with a 108 TB for a couple month. Couldn't get it to stay open. Big power gains with it. We tried several different things. 90mm was put back on. It's a huge restriction and limits HP. I ran the car 1 Friday with the 108 and had a best of 10.57@137mph with the TB slamming shut at the 1000ft. My new build shouldn't have that limitation on it and needed the auto. Hmmmmm
