Not to be off topic but what if anything has been done to the drivetrain?

Pull starts at 4500RPM and we lift at 7200RPM. Peak power is at 7000 RPM and the last pull we did last night was 1144 RWHP. Have a couple more tweaks to try today before we pull it off the dyno.

Not much yet, just:
Driveshaft Shop aluminum driveshaft and their 1500 HP axles.
Carlyle Racing 15" Conversion.

I'm sure we'll need transmission and rear upgrades very soon...

Are you guys worried about sucking any birds or small children into the intake?

Birds, probably but small kids are not allowed. Picked up another 21 hp so at the track should be 8.40's at 155 or so.

Last pull of 1153 RWHP and it's off the dyno. We found some belt slip at the top end using a standard black 8 rib belt (all that was available before SEMA) as it was stretching too much and causing the tensioner to run out of travel. We found a 12 rib Gates RPM that was 1/4" shorter - cut off 4 ribs and found 1 more psi of boost up top getting us another ~30 RWHP.

Again the low pressure system is out of fuel so we can't go any further until that's further upgraded (pull starts at 78psi and drops below 60psi at the end of the run). But so far our math has been conservative - we estimated it would make only 1100 RWHP in the current configuration. Once we get the low pressure system up to snuff again we'll hit it with more boost and shoot for the next calculated goal - 1300 RWHP. For now it's time to hit the track

Nice numbers Mike!

Just viewed this over on the corvette forum. Pretty cool comparison between the Eaton 2300 and the 2650.

Eaton has a winner on their hands.

Congrats this thing is a beast. Sub'd for track results. Gonna need a lot of cameras to record the new 6th gen Camaro record.

I don't know for sure but I think that's the most rwhp posted on the forum, for sure with a single power adder. Dam I was only 70 rwhp behind the old set up but now we are in a different time zone. Maybe I'll have to step my game, probably not that much but nice to be a team car and know the technology is there if I want it.

Thanks! I'll be happy just to get down the track with it at this point, making a lot of power on the dyno and actually being able to go fast with it are two different things. Sooner or later I'm sure it will be fast, but I'm expecting that it will take even more effort to dial it in for the track than it took to get the power out of it.
A clean pass without breaking anything so we can log some data is all I'm looking for first time out...

Congratulations Mike, great job. But no truer words spoken regarding making dyno power and going fast, lots of data logging, more tuning, etc. You guys will get it sorted out, and we all win when that happens.

TVS 2650 Camaro First Drive Video UPDATE - too much fun! VIDEO below.

https://youtu.be/us7IpOKKuqE

Any sort of launch on this unprepared airport runway was unthinkable, but managed to at least get a bit of a pull with the drag radials spinning in 4th - data log is below. The data is from the "in car" ride from the video, we didn't open the throttle till mid way through second gear (you can hear the blower when the throttle opens), it quickly blew through second and third then finally bogged and got a bit of traction in 4th. My son started yelling and laughing just before I lifted at about 6K in 4th as it lost traction again and went very sideways at 138 mph.

Car pulls like a freight train - notice the MAP sensor flat lined at 255 KPA, ~23psi boost and 20+ degrees of timing on a 416ci makes for some serious anger under the hood.
Going to drop blower speed by 20% to get boost down in the 15-16psi range and try to go to the track this weekend. Need to work on the shift points and torque management. I think trying to run with 23psi is going to break something before we even get a pass out of it - although I'll bring the smaller pulley with me for the last pass if it survives the day.

Good luck this weekend, wish I could be at the event to watch you make some passes in the 8s.

What fuel are you running this on that it tolerates 22 degrees timing on 10.8:1 compression and 12:1 air/fuel?

Or rather has it been bottom 8s a good amount of times with that tune up and survived?
