PA Law and Catalytic Converters

This is probably the wrong section so sorry.

Is anyone familiar with Pennsylvania Law, specifically Dauphin county, regarding catalytic converters? PA law is really goofy and confusing. I'm planning to eventually modify the exhaust system on my 2015 V6 and I was thinking of replacing the stock cats to less restrictive, better airflow cats. I'm not sure if to pass emissions testing I need the stock cats, or just any cats. I know some counties in PA don't even require them to functional. They'll pass just as long as they are there.

Anyone know?

That county requires emissions testing. If it passes with aftermarket cats you will be fine from people I know in that area. I'm lucky to live where testing is not required. So I don't have first hand experience with this.

General rule of thumb is as long as it passes the emissions test you are fine. Could a tech theoretically do a visual check and know it is not stock and fail it, yes.
