LFX Nitrous Insurance

Have an 2012 LFX; everything bone stock, I've been playing with the idea of a low shot nitrous kit (say 50). I think it'd be cool to be able to purge the lines and look like a boss every now and then.

That being said my car is basically a daily driver with full coverage insurance. So obviously I can't lie to my company because the first time I hit a deer or anything, they'll come to check my car out and see I have a kit then they'll void every possible thing? Right? Any information, or anyone with experience in this, I'd love to hear what you have to say.

My questions:

Do you have insurance on your camaro that's on the bottle? How much did it go up?

I don't think your insurance can void anything. you should still be covered on your car.

Why would insurance change at all? they care less about mods the only thing they do care about is how much those mods cost if you are going to claim them on custom accessories insurance.

otherwise they care less.

So you think calling them and asking wouldn't be, as we say in the Air Force "calling an air strike in on myself"?

I think maybe you are confusing insurance with warranty? Your warranty would surely go out the window, but it should not effect your insurance.

Essentially I was asking about both. I guess I didn't have much hope for the warranty. Thanks for the answers everyone. I'm strongly considering doing it.

For insurance it is not so cut and dry... some insurance companies won't cover your aftermarket parts, some may even cancel your policy... it varies greatly from company to company... you can't simply assuming you are covered...

personally, I would not call my insurance company and tell them I am putting nitrous on my car. just like I wouldn't call them right before I head to the race track, and tell them i'm about to race. lol

I would think your bank would be more concerned about the nitrous. If you are caught racing on a track with nitrous and wreck the car your insurace would not pay out. Then your lein holder will be the one who is piss, because really they are the ones that own the car. It is actually in my lein that I can not mod the car. Oops
