Just swapped to R888R's, way better on the street than stock. But a lot of road noise.

Yes, tire manufacturers make different versions of the same tire for vehicle manufacturers. BMW does the star on the sidewall for approval as an OEM tire, Porsche uses an 'N', etc.
No, they're not always "better", as the vehicle manufacturer may want to hit a specific price target, MPG target, etc. |

Replaced my stock Goodyears with the Michelins last week since the backs were trashed at 7k miles of just aggressive street driving w/o any burn outs or line lock.
Being that I live in the hottest State in America the consistent heat from the roads make the Michelins sticky and they come with a factory warranty of 30k miles on the fronts and 15k on the back. |

Got my tires (1LE, non-ZL1) at Costco as well. Their price was awesome. How did you do on price?

Having owned 4 Camaro's from 1996 thru 2000 and 3 ZO6's from 2004 thru 2016 I've never had Goodyear's last beyond 18k miles therefore blowing money on short-lived tires wasn't a smart idea. |

I paid a little less here in S. Florida. My SC3's (non R) lasted 9,800 miles with zero track time. I do corner aggressively. I went to the PS4S's partly because of the mileage but mainly because the SC3's are absolutely treacherous in our sudden, heavy summer rains. The PS4S's are great in the rain and handle beautifully, at least for aggressive street cornering.

Steering response is excellent, maybe slightly better because of the slightly narrower tread width. I chose not to go up a size because the section width is the same as the OEM’s. Again, I do not track the car, but I can’t say that the OEM’s perform any better on the street. Also, there is no tramlining like the SC3’s.
