Price of crap tremec 6060 tranny. Alot of people on other forums I'm on just for random knowledge have problems with them! I've heard that using mobil 1 has helped SOME people with the grinding. I'm having the problem too with 3000 miles so I'm gonna try it for this weekend when I change my oil. Btw everyone has diff opinions on what's the best tranny oil. Thru my research and people I know I feel like mobil 1 ATF will be my best bet! I'm on many diff forums also and that's my opinion. I would say try it and/or do research also! Some have bad synchros, some have worn out clutch fluid so it not fully disengaging when shifting, some it's their actual shifter.

Not on his V6. The V6 doesn't use ATF either.

You should explain the problems you're having a lot more. When did problems start, what gear grinds, do you hear noise or just feel harshness, does it do it when cold, etc.? Then C5 ppl can help you out.

my bad didnt even notice you put LS. Sorry!! I would do a fluid change/flush on the tranny and clutch. If its anything like what we are experiencing in our SS's then it will probably help!! I know its different cars but I think GM is putting Crap fluids in these cars stock. My rear differential after just 3000 miles came out looking like i was draining primer grey paint from it. Another friend did his with 1700 miles and the same result. from what ive seen on mine and two other friends cars it seems like gm half a**ed it on using good break in fluids! DONT let the dealer tell you its the way that sport cars or new camaros or anything else all are bc its B.S. I seen a few people go to the dealer and them say its normal and they did a fluid change themselves and is workin fine now! and some actually had synchro issues

Easy dude. Yes a fluid change may be of assistance but lets not go telling every new member false truths. GMs fluid is good stuff and IF its not the best, its only because the average joe wouldn't buy a car that required such high maintenance cost not to save a buck. New parts break in on all cars!!!!!!

To the OP, if you can speak with your dealer calmly about your concerns you may be able to convince them to do a fluid change for you. If you go in telling them about the shitty fluid GM uses....well...probly not.

It can't hurt. Just be sure to use the right fluid.

I really don't undestand why your gears are griding. I only have 600 on my car and the only time my grid is if I lift my clutch early before I am in gear......which I only have done once. I have felt NO GRID at all, in any gear, upshifting or down shifting.
