Engine cover off?

I kinda of want to take off the engine cover on my SS. Since it has a heat shield I dont know if will affect anything in a negative way like the hood paint recieving to much heat.. ect.....has anyone left their engine cover off? Is this not recommended to do?

Won't harm anything. It's just cosmetic.

Its just to cover what some people think is ugly. Engines themselves now a days look awesome, but when you tie in all the wire harness' and rubber tubes, they get buried and therefore look like a rats nest. Leaving the cover off wont affect anything negatively. I leave mine off most of the time.

inferno ls3-thank you for your input

376 ls3- I also like the way engines look especially LS engines. Speaking about a rats nest. Ever seen a Supra engine? Holy crap that a lot of crammed engine components

denis- thats what im talking about
