Curious, has anybody that had the springs changed out drag raced the car? Wondering if the shorter spring had hurt your weight transfer netting you a slower et

Plus both dealers I've gone to have rubbed me the wrong way. 1st one flat out refused to do it even after I showed them the bulletin and they pulled it up in their own system. The second ordered the parts no problem, but there has been no communication from the service advisor in about 2 months since. I know the parts were ordered because I actually got a text from some automated number to set up an appointment to do the job, but the fact the advisor has not actually contacted me is a little troubling. My gut feeling isn't good about turning the car over to them for the job. I know I may be being a little over the top, but I haven't ever taken any of my cars to a dealer for service. I was a Ford tech up until 7 years ago, and able to do all my own work at the shop, and I've been fortunate to not need any major work since leaving there.

Yes, All 4 wheels were a adjusted a few degrees.

But did you actually see the alignment sheet? They normally provide a before and after sheet. With how minor the drop is, I just can't see how the alignment would be thrown out that much. What I assume actually happens is that since they pretty much just put it on the alignment rack and check it just to get the extra time since it's a warranty job. Well actually any warranty job dealing with suspension is typically gonna call for an alignment check to be done.

I really wish more of domestic dealers took service more seriously. These cars aren't cheap anymore, so that excuse is no longer valid. Swapping 2 front springs is definitely not a long job. I've done it on several occasions on McPherson strut setups like the Camaro has. You remove the strut, compress the spring, remove spring, reinstall strut, and repeat for the other side. I'd say about 2 hours tops once the tech starts on it.

Don't have the sheet but I have some notes.

"add .70 correct both side camber, add .20 FT Toe, add .60 correct rear toe and also reset steering wheel angle"

Dang. I guess I can roll the dice on the install and just take it in for an alignment check. I think you're allowed 1 or 2 under warranty.

This is what has me thinking twice about having it done myself. I would think it would make a difference, even if it's minuscule, but maybe not.

That sucks! I'd be wondering if they actually changed them or not.

After measuresing I'm 28 and barely below 1/4 mark.. my gap looks stupid the back looks fine. My wife's SS is the the same but with 285 35s it looks fine. My friend brought his zl1 1le over yesterday and it was 27 1/2.. he has the gap aswell if you go by how it looks to the back of course he's on 19s. I put his spare 19s on my car and it didn't change the look as bad as thought it would but still needs lower in the front.

With phastek down the street I may just get their PV1 springs and do the front only probably 1/2 to 3/4 in front.

What are yalls though I can do the front 1st and see how it looks and handles?

Hard to see in pics.. Hopefully there aren't worse gaps thsn mine out there.

Mine was done about 10 days ago at my dealer, and is 27 and 3/4" ground to top of fender well on both front and rear. The work lowered the front by about 1/2" from before.

I think I have decided to go ahead and have mine changed. I was cleaning the car today and noticed it is a little too much of a gap. For those that made the change, did u have the option to keep the original springs?
