Question Want to get Zaino for new 2012 2ss, and need advice

Hey everyone,

I'm excited to join the club. I, few weeks ago, purchased my Camaro and couldn't be happier. It's rally yellow with the double dark stripes.

I've been hearing and seeing a lot of good things about the Zaino products and would like to get them, but I have a couple of brief questions I'd love to get your advice on.

1. What do you do in regards to those wide double stripes on the hood and trunk in relation to treating the rest of the painted areas? They're some kind of vinyl (I'm guessing) or matte material -- well, it isn't paint. I don't want those to be super glossy.

2. I also got that extra clear coat protection package. Are there issues around that and their products?

Cheers,
Kelly

Welcome Kelly to camaro5!

With the stripes you may want to use a product that will protect it and BLACKFIRE Crystal Seal will do job for you. As it maintains a clean look while promoting water beading for you. BTW also take a look at Chemical Guys VRT Dressing.

On the clearcoat package deal, what does it consist of?

Go to the Zaino web site and send Sal an email with your question.
He has always responded to any question about his products that I've asked.
Congrats on your new SS!

Hey guys sorry for the delay. When I wrote the message I kept trying to figure out how to subscribe to this thread (and failed). Then I wound up getting busy fight crime.

Angelo, thanks! It feels good to be on here. Also I'm going to go check this stuff out right now (BLACKFIRE Crystal Seal). Is it part of the Zaino line?

I also like sloSS' idea to just flat out ask. It actually makes me feel a little stupid for not going with the obvious choice there.

Still thanks y'all!

Cheers,
Kelly

Angelo, I'll dig up the specs on the package when I get home. Right now I can't recall what it is. The overview is that it's an extra layer plus they handle any dent damages (size of credit card)

Cheers,
Kelly

Kelly, the BLACKFIRE Crystal Seal is part of the Blackfire line of products that you can get thru Todd @ Autopia Car Care Store.

Ahh... Thanks on the clarification Angelo.

So the specs on the upgrade are basically 2 things:

PDR (Paintless Dent Repair) This is where they can pull out certain dents about the size of a credit card. This is through a 3rd party company that is in Irving, TX (I'm in Austin). They'll get a rep in my location to assist me.

Extra Clear Coat (PermaPlate Warranty) Basically they guarantee that this will not fade or erode because of mother nature. Also, they claim that all I need is just soap and water, and the car will always looked waxed... Still, I want to see that extra shine

Oh and both of these are a 5 year plan.

Cheers,
Kelly
