zl1 micro fiber knob and wheel

I bought my car about a month ago. The description had stated that the car had the micro fiber package but they made a mistake. So the dealer gave me a gm website to buy the parts. I got them in the mail today and the steering wheel has the paddle shifters on it. I own a manual. Im not sure if I could or want to put that on my manual. Thinking of maybe selling both the knob and the wheel or stashing them and just forget about them. any advice would be appreciated.

I would look at your window sticker.. if it says the car was equipped with the Microfiber package, I would go to the dealer (show them) and have them order you the correct parts and install them.. If the sticker says nothing then its your word against theirs..

As far as your wheel, I would see if you could exchange it for the correct one.. I am not sure if you can put a wheel with Tap shift paddles on an M6 car...

No the window sticker says nothing about micro fiber package but they listed it on eBay as having it. So I told them and they agreed to buy me the wheel and knob. Unfortunately it was the automatic wheel. Might call the dealer tomorrow to see what they think.

I'd talk with the Service Manager and he'll get the Parts Dept to switch them out for you. They should cost the same and have them throw something in for all the aggravation. Like ZL1 floor mats or the ZL1 cargo mat. The Service Manager wants you to be a RETURN customer so throwing a little something your way is no big deal to keep you happy. At this point the Dealership now makes its money from servicing your car, they know you can just as easily take it elsewhere.

Micro is inherent to the ZL, whether or not your wheel and shift knob have them is where the variation exists. I wouldn't want a micro wheel or shifter. Sell off those parts seperately and you'll make a couple of dudes very happy.

Yes do that, I haven't driven one without, but it's pretty comfortable with, so don't just try to sell that one and not have one.

thats for the advice. dealer gave me the wrong part number and is going to get me the right one. Im thinking of keeping it fresh for now and when my leather starts to fade, switch them out. I've been so busy I haven't even had time to post pics and show off my new baby. If I am not working overtime all weekend, I'll wash her up and post some pics. Thanks again
