Borla ATAK...Is the honeymoon over yet?

I wanted you guys to comment on your findings, now that you may have had it for a little bit of time now. Anybody taken a road trip? I have read all the posts when people installed. How bout now? I want another exhaust to play with. No headers, just a catback. I already have the Mach X. Great sound, NO DRONE. Just want to do something different. The ATAK is a beast all by itself, as I have watched and listened to every you tube video. Some say no drone, along the Corsa lines, and some say minimal. For example, cruising between 1800-2000 on hwy. What is minimal? It can be loud getting there, but when I drop it in 6th, it would be nice to relax and ride. I just don't want to pull the trigger, and have a headache by the time I get to work, with my ears still ringing. I know that alot of people don't care about that stuff, because it sounds so great. I drive about 30 minutes each way to work every day, 80% highway. Thoughts? I am not considering any other brands. Thanks in Advance!

im my experience any exhaust as loud as the atak there is going to be at least some drone. i went with the atak myself. corsa i cant speak for never owned a corsa. NO matter what you decide on you should check out http://www.ipsmotorsports.net/ they have the very best price on the atak that you'll find. great place to deal with as well. i think if there is a little drone it will be worth it with the atak

Truthfully I don't think there is a performance exhaust out that doesn't have drone ... The extent that is exceptable to you will be the big question. Personally from my experience the more aggressive the sound the more the drone ...

As said before, it is a louder exhaust so you will experience some drone. But it's not near as bad as the flowmaster on my truck and some have said its not as bad as the Borla-S since the ATAK 'tuned'. I have taken a few road trips and it doesnt bother me at all. The sound is worth it to me. I can still talk hands free on the phone however onstar doesnt understand anything I say at cruise speed. I kept trying to check the weather for storms on one trip and gave up.

As far as drone goes on the ATAK or S is it more cars with LS99 or LS3 tranny's . From what I have read here it may be more the A6 ? Would like some feedback from LS3 owners ?

If 6th gear highway cruising qiuetness is one of your leading criteria, I would steer away from one of the loudest set ups available. That's like wanting skim milk and getting buttermilk. Opposite ends if the spectrum.

I've had mine for about a month now, I have an LS3 and still very very happy with it. I don't have any problems whatsoever with drone, hands free and/or onstar, as long as I keep my windows up.

Hey Rocky , is it only loud going through the gears ? In other words how is it say driving around town like in 4th . Are people going to hear you go by and say man thats obnoxious ? I am up in years so being too loud may look like I am in a midlife which my GF says I am . Told her I went through that already when I got divorced and met her , although she may be due for a trad in soon

i have a question....i was showing some friends the comparison of the 3 borla set ups and most ppl liked the s-type and some even the touring...no1 liked the atak cuz they thought it sounded like crap...like an old piece of crap car with a hole in the muffler...i on the other hand like the atak cuz i like loud...but with loud i also want it to have a clean cut sound...i guess i just dont want it to sound like its a broken exhaust but sound mean and aggressive at the same time...my question i guess really is does it sound better in person? cuz the more i like to the comparison i feel like it sounds like a cherry bomb and the other 2 sound more "tuned"
