I would have asked them to send a rollback after the car. I would have followed to the dealer. That way they would have seen the bolts that were loose, the mess, and you could have made sure the service advisor saw it. At least they admitted the mistake and put a different Mr. Bentwrench on the fix. If you go back, ask for the tech that did the fix the second time. Having work done at any dealership is a crap shoot. Good luck!!!

DZ, i never cleaned any of the oil mess up and only tightened the bolts enough to drive it back there. I did not torque them to specs. I also sent 6 digital pics to the dealer mngr. before i tightened down anything so he could see firsthand what was done.

You or anyone driving that vehicle would have been at risk for injury or death. They wouldn't have had to suggest it because I would have demanded it. Not only for safety sake but also to prevent any potential damage to the car as well... Quote:
I wouldn't get too carried away with going after the dealership, as they did own it. The thing I would suggest is really going after the people working in the service area, as this is where your real problem lies. You have a history with them, and you can show them hey....these two issues, same service area. Obviously you thought well enough of the dealer to purchase there more than once. Don't let one end of the business ruin it for all of the business. I would press the issue, all the way if need be.

I can't believe you drove the car back. I would've told them to send a flatbed wrecker over to pick it up. Then would've btiched enough until I knew that mechanic was no longer a mechanic and was sweeping floors.

I would be NERVOUS about cashing in those free oil changes.
This tech losing this job would mean someone without a job (and probably more competent) would have one.

meh, i say hold your friends close and your enemies closer. at least you know where the hack is working. fire him and he'll just move on, possibly to the next GM shop that'll have him. i'd suggest disciplinary action and probation, maybe recertification(s). that, and the promise from the dealership that he NEVER work on my vehicle again.

The guy that didn't tighten the subframe bolts, probably needs a drug screen.. Nobody in their right mind would be this negligent

It was probably the same guy who didn't tighten the oil filter when u had the oil changed and didn't tighten the sub-frame bolts. The dealership should fire that guy, period!

That is just unbelivable. They must not have even test driven it before they give it back to you.If they did, how the hell do you miss something like that?If that tech was ASE certified he needs it taken away and beaten over the head with it.
