track junkies.....what timing chain tensioner is in your car?

Just about to change my cam. Have the timing cover off. I have an ls2 dampner sitting here but i had the ls3 tensioner in my car with a big cam and blower at 650ish whp...it still looks fine. Just wondering what yall got in there since youre revving the piss out of it most of the time. Apparently the zr1 has the ls3 tensioner according to factory assembly pics. I already upgraded my timing chain. Im starting to believe its the stock chain that fails first...thanks!

I'd use either that LS2 one you have, if new.

Or
http://www.lingenfelter.com/mm5/merc...egory_Code=C38

That's a Cloyes heavy duty one.

I like those styles cause there is nothing to fall apart. That, a C5R Chain, and a 3 bolt cam, and you're pretty bullet proof under the timing cover.

The LS2 style is what Katech and Lingenfelter sell and use. It'll work perfect for you.

The biggest advantage is there is nothing to fall apart.

The LS3 style might be slightly quieter, but is more complex. For racing, you want simplicity and bulletproof. The LS2 style better fits a racing application.

I broke my stock LS3 style after my cam swap. Went to LS2 style and it's been fine since.
