All Season tires for ZL1
Need a good all-weather tire to put on my ZL1. It is a daily driver that may see some slightly spirited driving and may ride by a drag strip once or twice. Mud and snow will not be an issue in the least. I live in SC so winter is very mild. I want to still drive on the pretty days when the temps dip into the 20-30 degree range. I had a set of vredstein tires on my SS and they were great. They could be noisy but preformed excellent in rain suggestions please

I've had the same questions and everyone suggested Continental Extreme Contact DWS In 275/40/20 and 315/34/20. It is a great all season tire and every time this topic arises it's the recommended tire.

+1 on the DWS. Great tire, although they're a little heavy compared to other tires in the same category. Another recommendation would be Toyo Proxes 4 plus, but you'll find they are less common. I've owned both, and will go with the Toyo's with my next tire swap

I found that the MPSS are still generally better at 40 - 50° than the DWS.
The DWS are very good for AS, but are a huge drop from the MPSS. If you do not drive in snow, and have minimal 20 - 30° days, maybe stay with the MPSS all year.

Is there a temp requirement for the MPSS like the OEM GY's, do not drive below 40 degrees? I would like a tire I can drive on sunny days even though it is 30 degrees out. With the OEM GY's you cannot drive the car if weather is below 40 degrees.

Im running PSS 315's on the rear (summer tires). Grip is not good for aggressive driving in the cold. They spin like crazy when you step on it a little. But not as bad as the goodyears. Driving in wet mode in the cold works very well tho. No spinning......
I dont believe they will crack like the goodyears. My old goodyears have cracks all over them

I would say a good all season tire is the Conti DWS, the Michelin PSS everyone is mentioning is a great tire, but with the amount of power the Zl1 puts down and weather getting cold they do loose traction.

+2. I am running this setup and you do get pretty good traction. I can tell the tires are at their limits when accelerating hard, but so much better than driving on the bricks that came on the car.

I just put on the DWS 275 40 and 315 35 setup. Drove today in 23 degree weather with a half inch dusting of snow with no drama whatsoever. Better traction in the snow under decent acceleration than the stock tires on dry 45 degree pavement. I will put the wheels with the stock tires back on when it gets around 70 degrees. Ride is nice, much quieter. Rear tires look massively wide.
