Remove the OnStar box. Problem solved!
I have friends who thank thier lucky stars for OnStar. Flipped their Trailblazer down an embankment late at night, and trapped both of them. Could have been much worse without OnStar activiated.

He asked for an example, and this provided a perfect one "of someones OnStar history being used against them" doesn't it?
But how about an example where OnStar ratted someone out. This is the real question of privacy. In this case, did the police have to Subpoena the evidence or did OnStar just call the police out of the blue and inform on the driver? Those are completely different scenarios. One supports your privacy the other does not. With a warrant, the police can tap about whatever they want so not sure how OnStar should be somehow exempt from that.

BTW, OnStar can only "call you". If you don't answer they can't hear you.

Who needs OnStar or other "Conspiracy Theories" when we have the proof that privacy is no longer a right?

Two examples:

http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/201...acking-device/

"Caught Spying on Student, FBI Demands GPS Tracker Back"

http://nationalsecuritylawbrief.com/...on-of-privacy/

"An August decision by the Ninth Circuit indicates that warrants may not be needed for placing GPS tracking devices on suspects’ cars. See U.S. v. Pineda-Moreno, 591 F.3d 1212 (9th Cir. 2010). Surprisingly, that court decided that even though the defendant’s car was within his curtilage when police placed the GPS, he had no expectation of privacy and therefore the police did not need a warrant."

You may be right but it's amazing how many of them go out of their way to trash what amounts to a "competitor" and people watching them still think they are watching "journalists" reporting "news".

Ya think that maybe because these guys are competing for audience and advertisers that they might be saying things about the other guy that are not exactly honest?

As for the "news", I don't think anyone lies. I think it's simply perspective.

For example, "A bill was passed today by congress assuring healthcare for everyone". Simple fact.

"Oh my God this is wonderful, America is saved" or "Oh my God this will bankrupt the country and give more control of our lives to the government". Which of these is reported as news is merely perspective. Now if you think that when the "perspective" you don't like is is reported in the "news" is lying, that isn't the fault of MSNBC or Fox News.

The line between entertainment and news is a fine line and getting finer.

When you make it so simple, it even sounds like a good thing.

Sadly, getting the allowable treatment isn't the same as getting cured.

I agree with this in principle. However, the missing component is that most of the "perspective" isn't based on ANY facts.

Sure it is. All perspective has a basis in truth, otherwise it's no longer perspective and becomes imagination. However, the extent to which these original facts are distorted and stretched varies....a lot.
