Air deflector is the bottom part of the front end, right?

Yes, I believe it helps with aerodynamics

Chevy dealer wanted $4.50 for bolt, $5.40 for nut, I needed 8. O'Reily has DIS fastener, same as GM oem $11.99 and $12.99 for packs of 25.
Nut is not threaded, bolt goes in four ribs to screw on. This makes them strip off when stressed, so the air deflector does not get damaged, like little shock absorbers. Nylon fasteners are expensive and stronger than the plastic deflector, steel bolts will rip right through. This is why everyone's are loose, not unscrewed, pulled out.
I will be reaching under to tighten mine on every car wash.

The factory ones seem to be made to fall off. I went to Lowe's and bought white Teflon bolts and wing nuts and replaced all of them. Haven't had an issue with them loosening since.

And the factory ones are about $10 per fastener. That same $10 will replace half of them from Lowe's.

This is the rubber dealeo, right? Can't lift it tonight but it seems there are some bolts & nuts and some bolts only holding it on. All the nuts were loose. Gotta jack it up manana.

Also, RTV silicone is a good thread 'locker.' It'll hold them on, adsorb vibration and you can get them off if you want to. Great for riflescope hardware too for the same reasons!

FOR ANYONE DOING THIS ON THEIR BACK, LIKE ME, THE NUTS ON TOP ARE 13mm!

Thanks for sharing all this information. My cousin's 2015 Camaro just had her deflector fall off. I couldn't believe that a deflector with 16 bolts/fasteners would fail. They have a 10 piece set on Ebay for $17 or the dealer wanted $6 each. Would the factory warranty cover this or would they say its wear and tear? I can imagine them telling her that she probably ran over something and want to charge her.
