The part that's really gonna suck is the gap in production. It looks like they are going to have to move, but can you imagine how long it'll take to get back up and running? Combined with their existing backlog we may not see PMAGs for a year (or longer).

That would suck but it's better than going out of business forever. I can't own and of the good mags they make any way or at least not till I move someday.

Absolutely not man. PMAG is a huge company.

Once they get the final word they will begin moving the company in steps.

Step 1 - acquiring a warehouse
Step 2 - hiring workforce ; training
Step 3 - buying materials needed and transfering having them sent to new area
Step 4 - would be most likely buying new equipment to make 30 round pmags
Step 5 - would be to continue making 10 round pmags until new facility is up and running at full capacity of 30 rounders
Step 6 - would then be to transfer all down to new facility.

Honestly, if done properly you could see orders being fulfilled more quickly due to 2 shops running at the same time.

I guess I should've clarified. I'm talking about 30 round PMAGs (the ones being attacked). Passing HB1224 made it illegal for Magpul to manufacture them. That means that they can't even begin to produce 30 rounders until they've found a place and moved. Getting everything set up and training new workers will take months. This added to their existing backlog (I've heard as many as 1 million units) will definitely take some time.

I thought the gen 3s were already out there. Could've sworn I saw a few at the gun show before all the craziness started. Either way HB1224 forbids Magpul from selling them, so I wouldn't hold your breath. :(

I believe they have already started to put in plans to allow magpul to keep manufacturing but not sell to the state is what I meant.

Training will not take months, this is a company with means and lots of money.

I've read about some specific provisions, but according to Richard Fitzpatrick (their CEO) they won't matter.

"...regardless of any amendments that may be worked into the bill, he will no longer be able to continue to do business in Colorado if his core product is made illegal."

“Our company could not, in good conscience, continue to manufacture our products in a state where law-abiding citizens are prohibited from purchasing and owning them. ” Fitzpatrick said. “The passage of this bill will do nothing to enhance public safety, but will force us to immediately begin taking our business to another state.”

I didn't say training would take months, and know that they're a company with means. I'm talking about the combination of finding a place to move, purchasing a factory, purchasing new or transferring old equipment and training workers. Once that's complete they can begin catching up with the hundreds of thousands of existing backorders, and the additional demand from the time they're down. Even with 600+ workers you don't produce those kind of numbers quickly.
