No, they don't.

Go to a track day and see how many slotted and drilled rotors you see in the paddock, almost none unless it's on a Porsche and it has factory rotors. 95% run a flat steel rotor.

I read a while ago that some suggested staying with solid rotors for street use. Granted most probably aren’t driving as spirited as I tend to. Something about heat dissipation and more surface area. I’ll have to look into it again. I don’t think I’ve heard drawbacks on slotted but drilled had a tendency to crack which I’ve had happen. Idk the quality of rotors. They came on my old 95 cobra.

I've read that solid rotors are better also.

I’ve been to several track days and there have been a lot of Vettes an Camaro’s with OEM slotted rotors. Now maybe they are not a full slotted rotor but they have slots in them.

Scrap the organic or ceramic pads. They will glaze with hard use and dont bite as well as a metallic. They are quieter, last longer and dust much less than metallic's, but far too often they wind up glazing the pads and rotors. Metallic pads will wear into the rotor and bite better, but tend to not glaze as easily because they're wearing into the rotors, whereas organics and ceramics will not. They can sometimes make a squeal when cold though. IMO I always opt for metallic / semi metallic pads when I can. I can deal with the dust.

None of the Camaros have the slotted rotors from the factory. One exception is possibly the very rare Chevrolet Performance brake kit that may have been dealer installed.

I agree with you on that Camaros, but the guy said nope to Camaros and C7 corvettes. Some C7's do come from the factory with slotted rotors.

I have a C7 Grand Sport an they are slotted or what is referred to as soft slots and I also scored a set of the rare 1LE upgrade with slots an installed them on my Camaro.
