Never had a problem here and could usually open my door from a pretty good distance.

On my 5th Gen I even had it programmed to open and close NPP

Mine works great. Mine works about 100ft from the door as I pull up. you might be right with the older line of sight openers that do not use rolling codes. I know are old door opener you had to be right in front of it to open. The news ones now connect to WiFi and you can use your phone to operate.

OP here, let me add that I back into the garage so when I come home and pass the house then reverse into the garage making a 90 degree angle, it is very difficult for the garage to pick up the signal. Happens going towards the house as well, but works better facing the house overall.

Strong signal from mine. Better than my hand held remote.

I agree with earlier posts, likely your G door antenna.

I have to be less than 3 feet from the door, dead straight with the opener to be able to open the door with my 2018... The 2010 Enclave can open it 10 houses away, lol.

Sometimes if the hand held transmitter you're learning the signal from has a weak battery, you get a weak signal from the Homelink.... The battery in my hand held transmitter is over 5 years old, lol. I'll be trying to reprogram it once I find a new battery for it, just to see.

Similar problem with my 17SS Homelink - When I exit the garage the opener will close the door from about 10 feet away but I have to pull right up to the door in order for it to open.

Just programmed mine. I always have to do the extra step of pressing the learn button on the opener but it’s done.
Not to hijack the thread but I’m having an issue with the DIC. When I start the car I get a message in the DIC center advertising Sirius XM demo channel. I have to scoll twice to dismiss it to get to the mph directional message. I want for the DIC to show MPH and direction on startup not a stupid ad for Sirius XM. How do I change this?

When I programmed mine, the other vehicles in the household and other remotes disconnected. Not sure how I can program them all to work....

Does homelink work with no keys in the vehicle? So if the car is in the driveway, someone breaks into my car, can they open the garage? This is the reason I never set them up before

Not sure what opener you have but mine has a limit to the number of devices, I think it is 5. It then drops the oldest, so when I program a sixth device the first stops working, giving me a rotation of 5 devices. Every time I add a remote, I have to go back and check that all my current vehicles and remotes work, including the wireless keypad.
