RotoFab Install

Do you have to disconnect the battery for this install? I did the TM TB install and no need to disconnect it for that, so I figured it would not be necessary for this either, but wanted to check first. Thanks

But you should. Anytime dealing with electrical components you should disconnect battery, takes 1 minute.

The directions say to disconnect. Takes like 30 seconds. I would to reset the computer to more quickly adjust the fuel trims.

I completed the install this morning. I did not disconnect the battery, nor unplug the MAF, I actually unscrewed the entire MAF housing from the air tube (2 screws) and tucked it away until the new tube was on the car, then just screwed the MAF/housing back on. Entire install took me about 45 min start to finish, including cleaning under the hood. Threw no codes, runs great and definitely smoothed out the rough idle caused by the TM Throttle Body I installed. I didn't notice any difference with just the TB, but coupled with the RotoFab.... you can certainly tell the difference.

I've been a tech for 30 years it's good practice to disconnect battery whenever you do any sort of wrenching on a car.

My only complaint is I wish the hose clamps were black instead of silver.

Installed my dry filter Roto-fab an hour ago. Didn’t disconnect the battery and test drove it after. Zero codes, lights or problems. To be honest, didn’t notice one bit of difference in sound. (Not testing power yet until 500 miles)

You’ll probably have to get into boost to notice the difference in sound.

Also, as others have said the instructions recommend disconnecting the battery. I'm not sure why people don't want to take this quick and simple step. If it said open hood, would you skip that step too? I disconnecting when installing mine.
