Ouch! I would not go back to that dealer. You should have got new plugs and wires for that price, not just a cleaning.

Yes I agree with taxes came to $415 I thought they should of replace plugs for that price not just clean them . I learned an expensive lesson and problems with electronics first check battery connections then check plugs and wires

The AC Delco 41110 iridium plugs are about $6.00 retail each x 8 =$48.00.
a set of AC Delco 9748uu plug wires are $30.00 retail .
Labor is about $125.00 an hour , and an hour is all it takes .
So even if the dealer is charging twice as much for the parts and $125.00 for labor it shouldn't cost more than $281.00 total with new plugs and wires. Something is very wrong with this whole thing . The dealer ran a scan and knew it was plugs and wires . Looks like you got sodomized without a kiss or any lube . You should go buy a cheap OBD ll scanner and learn how to service your car yourself. I have never heard of a dealer cleaning iridium plugs ,SOP they replace them .

Dealerships usually charge just to plug the OBDII scan tool in. My teacher in automotive technology back in high school said it isnt uncommon to be in the 300 dollar neighborhood just for that.

Not trying to "rub salt in the wound", but I would go back and talk to the service manager, general manager of the dealer and get something back. At least follow up and file a complaint with GM or BBB. That is just unethical and borderline criminal, even for a stealership. Not a good business practice at all and if I was the general manager I would be pissed that my service people took advantage of the customer like that. Sorry to hear that happened.

All the dealerships around Atlanta usually charge a fee to hook up and diagnose issues, but they also dont charge for it, if you have the work/repair done by them. But could be different elsewhere. Something worth checking on though.

I did speak to the service manager when I picked up the car and asked for a discount since I always service my car there and his response was the last time you were here was two years ago so pay $415 and no discount and my response was car has only 5,700 miles and $415 is way too much for loose spark plug wire . Next time I’m going to auto zone where they hook up an obd 2 for free and tell you what’s wrong....my mistake was thinking that I could only trust a Chevrolet dealer to do the right thing and I got screwed big time

Most dealers do, I haven't been to a dealer where they don't try to rape you. (Money wise)
