Yep. Its well documented here on C5. I'm just looking for some service department feedback because - well - you guys know that 'mileage may vary' depending on the dealer. Some don't know a Camaro from a Corsica - and those stories are also documented here.

Best I could offer is take it to Richards Chevy in Cheshire and ask to talk to Jason the GM and mention your from the CT Camaro Club. Jason was driving his ZL1 the last time I saw him so he’s one of us. I know Eric his sales manager who came over from Gengras where I got and service my car, but that’s far to have it towed.

Exactly what I was looking for - someone to point me to 'our people'. We will reach out to them in the morning and sort out how to get her moved there. Thanks so much.

Update: Roadside would only tow his car within a specified radius. He called Richards and couldn't get through to Jason. The rep he spoke with was reportedly not very knowledgeable about our cars. Between that and the fact he had to pay to have it towed there, be just threw in the towel and had it taken to closest dealer, Chevy of Milford.
It has been at the dealership since Oct 5th - with exactly the results I was fearing. They seem clueless. He's frustrated and plans to unload the car and get back into a truck. Initially they concurred and said 'yeah, we also encountered the DIC message and heard a ticking'. So initially they thought he needed a new engine. Then they started measuring pressure manually. Apparently it had pressure 'up top'. So that would be at the oil pressure sensor. Then it sat because they wanted to check it at 'the bottom' which would likely be behind the alternator, drivers side, oil galley plug - and that was good. So the last I heard was they heard ticking and thought it was toast, but, checked and verified it had pressure, then decided to change out the oil pump anyways. Thanks for the input earlier. Things may have turned out different if he was closer to Richard or Jason had been around when he called. We tried. |

OK.. So I don't have a Fifth Gen....so does that mean I'm out of the CT members?
I did replace it with this......

Soon to be 5th gen owner checking in from North Haven. I recently sold my Vette and am picking up a 15 1SS RS 1LE on 4/28. I was seeking out a very particular 1LE and found it at a dealer in Michigan. A buddy and I are flying out and driving her home. I've had plenty of other fun cars, 89 Iroc, 69 Camaro, 81 T/A, 05 GTO, 02 Vette vert. I still have an 08 Mini John Cooper Works S, what a blast that car is to throw around. I'm pumped to get this car, the 1LE has always been on my list of cars to own. Here's a quick picture from the dealers site. These next 3 weeks are going to be LONG.....
