This will probably get deleted. Lol. But my friend had a problem with his AGP turbocharged car with the Stainless Works retro and as soon as he switched out those chambered parts for straight pipe he gained horsepower immediately. I was hoping this was just a twin turbo thing but if I am hearing the same problems elsewhere I am kind of bummed. I love the way the exhaust sounds with the Retro Chambered.

Now If I have to get rid of both chambered pieces I am going to end up spending over a 1,200 for an essentially 3 inch straight pipe.

This is true...and the straight pipe will sound unrefined for sure.

Thinking about doing cutout to bypass the chambered part when I go to track. Already loud enough for the neighborhood and cops that straight pipes won't work

I have cutouts for when i want obsurd loud.

But i did cut out the middle 2 mufflers today. a bit louder at idle and much louder at WOT. Car definately pulled better.

I did take a before video, but was starting to rain on my way home so ill have an after video up soon.

Performance wise, it sure as hell doesn't seem to be.

But sound wise, it is one of the best on the market, IMO of course.

Unfortunately, that is not a sacrifice most of us are willing to make. SW exhausts are not getting the best rap lately. Race Proven Motorsports posted a vid last December of a CTS-V losing 100+rwhp on the dyno using a SW Retro catback (the turbo muffler style). They did back to back dyno runs showing the loss/gains.

The response they got from SW is very interesting to say the least...

Bought my car used and it had the SW exhaust. Sounded really good but now I'm disappointed knowing I've been building a car with restrictive exhaust. Sound is nice but I'm trying to go faster...not sound better.

Sorry for the delay. I had the 2 middle mufflers deleted on tuesday. While testing out the new exhaust i wrecked some spark plugs and had to bring it to the shop..haha oops.

So while at the shop they did new plugs and wires and threw it on the dyno to make sure everything was ok before giving it back to me today.

With that said the car made 15 more Horsepower from when they had it on the dyno last summer just from removing 2 of the mufflers!!. They are pretty restrictive.

The car is much louder...its actually very stupid loud and drone now is definitely noticable but i think its worth it and sounds killer.

Its tuff to tell from a cell phone video but here is the before and after.

enjoy.

IDLE

To bad you couldn't have done a before and after while at the shop. Guess I'll be shopping around for a new to me (used) exhaust. Moving to Virginia and heard cops are bad in my area so can't be stupid loud. Texas nobody cares
