I tried the Canon brand towels, as recommended by the Zaino website, for the cd test. Bought the towels at a high class store (K-Mart). There's different levels of Canon towles but the ones I used were bath size and only about 8 bucks each. They said 100% cotton on the tag and they felt pretty soft. Didn't get a single scratch on an unused cd, although they did leave a very little lint when wiping the car but hey for 8 bucks I can blow the lint off or just drive the car and let it blow off on its own.

I would say the scratching probably has more to do with the dust already on the cd than anything the towel would actually cause. Just a thought.

Really? How much dust could be on a cd. One way to tell for sure is to break down, spend a quarter, and use a brand new cd.
