89 mustang v8 vs 2013 v6
This kid thinks he can beat me with his 89 v8 just cause I have a v6. Should I even waste my time on that shit?

Over twenty years ago there was an article about twenty minute tune - up that with a few parts and some tires could put a 5.0 in the twelves in the quarter.
I'd think it would be hard to find a 5.0 that's still bone stock. You've been warned! Lol |

Do it. If the worst happens and he beats you, he gets to brag that his V8 is faster than a V6.
If you win, then he learns a valuable lesson. |

I'd do it just to see (as long as it's legal). I would say you have the advantage by having the LFX engine. But some of those 5.0s can be pretty wicked. So don't screw up, if you lose, it is just a V6.

If it's a 5.0 worth it's salt, you'll lose. Most of the guys around that I see bragging about their shitty 80s mustangs run 15s and think they have the world's greatest car. Run him.

Friend's fox 5.0 with headers and an anderson cam did 260 whp, 1/4 mile in 13.5 @ 104 mph.
They're the LS1 of the 80's. Underrated. |

Watch out those things can be crazy fast with very little work. It doesn't take as much power from them to go fast as it does your car, because They are so light. If he is running a unopened 5.0 you should have him though

It all comes down to what mods he has done to his car. Let us know the outcome.
