How can I tell if my AC high pressure switch is bad?

My compressor wasn’t coming on due to the clutch not engaging. I took the compressor out and put 12v to it but nothing happened. I tried again and then it worked. Before putting it back together I want to make sure the high pressure switch is good.

It turned out my clutch coil was bad. I bought a new one on ebay for $59. It's simple to change.
