Exhaust modification

So my Whipple SC 2012 Camaro vert has ARH powder LTH and a Corsa sport exhaust after that. CAI intake as well. It's pretty darn loud.

I've been contemplating the idea of putting the stock mufflers (yeah I know, weight) back on and having the Corsa tips welded on.

What do you think of that? The two concerns that come to mind are: 1) I don't want any drone and 2) performance changes.

Would like some people's input.

Stock cans would be my exact suggestion. Do you have cats? Hi flo cats will tone it down also....kill some of the rasp. Good luck

Our Cars are pretty similar .
I was amazed at how much difference in both the Tone and Volume when I had the Corsa Mid Section modified by adding the MagnaFlow resonated X-Pipe in place of the Corsa X.

Paid $100 for the X-pipe and another $100 for the shop to switch it out.

The Corsa is not bolted on the same way as the stock system.
Corsa has to be cut up , then a new section of pipes added to merge the MagnaFlow setup where Corsa used to be.

If your trying to up your post count find something constructive to help the OP's situation .
In the mean time look up the Magnaflow Resonated X pipe
Then Look under your car I bet you cant put the X pipe in your car with 4 bolts either.

Yes, it has the ARH hi-flow cats with the LTH and is still loud, like when I start it up people might jump or have an unapproving look on their face lol.

I would hate to cut up the Corsa exhaust underneath. I just don't know if that would provide enough of a volume decrease either.

Can anyone comment on the possible drone if I just weld the stock mufflers on? I picked Corsa as my cat back exhaust as I didn't want any drone.

I think you'll be suprised at how loud it still is after putting the stock cans back on.
Its the stock 4 Cats and resonator that keeps the volume down.

I don't have headers, but I am catless and the factory muffs sound quite good actually. No drone, just a hint of rasp and a bit of pop on decel. They're pretty much straight through as well. Lots of peeps think I have an aftermarket exhaust. Funny look on their face when they look around back and see those big cans there haha!

Basically you'd be going back to a stock cat back with LT's and cats. So, with stock cans...no drone.

I did just this with a Borla S type. It is now just about perfect. I will say this, I regret cutting up my X pipe. '

In hindsight I would have bought a Jegs x pipe and cut that one up, and kept my stock one for later.
