Cylinder 6 out
Hey fellas I’m new here so bare with me. I had cylinder 6 go out and I pulled the plug on it. The ground electrode bent in leaving no gap in the plug. I’m assuming the worst here. So it’s with a valve. Part of the piston, detonation, over rev , just seeing if anyone has had a similar issue.
I got a bore scope on the way to work today. When I get home I’m going to cross my fingers and see what I find in there. What y’all think? Pic of plug |

More people may be able to help if you provide more details about you car. Mods, miles, when did you notice the issue. At 1st glance it appears that the electrode had the crap beat out of it and possibly melted i.e. lean run. Can you post a closer pic of the electrode?

I smelt a bit of fuel that was more then usual as well. Then the day it happened it fired right up I let it warm up for a few min then was going to head to work. As I pulled on the high way it shuttered bad and lost power so I turned around and went home to get my truck. |

I am not getting naked.
Be interested to see what the bore scope shows. Did you test compression or at least turn the engine by hand with the plug out to see if you can see anything? |

Mine did the same thing, turned out to be the tune and caused a detonation, both 6 and 8 cylinders had the spark plugs smashed and took chunks out of the piston edges, cause a scar on the #6 cylinder wall as well. Machine shop will be the best bet to know the real damage.

How did you determine it was a tune issue? That’s what I am thinking as of now in my ordeal.. what did you end up doing to fix it all?

Happy_Dan I seen some scuffs on the piston face but could quite tell if anything was loose in there.

I talked to them the other day! I’m new to this area and wasn’t to sure where to start looking. I met with Joey there and he seemed pretty cool and knowledgeable. I’m taking the car there on the 26th. I’m planning for the worst and hoping for the best. Lol
How do you know of Excessive gsxrturbo ? |
