Finally found a pic of the shorty headers. They're on Ebay for 325 us dollars (450 au dollars) for a set.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Holden-VE-V6-...1231134001r602

Looks like they'll definitely fit, assuming the head/flange bolt pattern IS the same (which it should be).

if not, take it to an exhaust shop and get it matched up

I was going to have them installed at my exhaust shop when they did the rest of my exhaust anyway.

Did some research and the cost of getting the brand new painted headers ceramic coated is much cheaper than the difference in price between ordering the ceramic coated headers from pacemaker (750 or so) and the ebay price (325) - savings would be around 150 to 200 dollars after shipping. Not a bad deal - this is definitely the way I'll go when I get my headers. Plus they offer a satin aluminum finish instead of just the polished finish, which I would prefer for reasons of personal taste.

Anybody heard anything good or bad about the coating company? ThermalTech Coatings.

I have not heard of them BUT I used Jet-Hot on my chevelle's long tubes, pretty happy with the service and results. Not a direct answer but a suggestion at the least

And on a side note, how do you know those will fit? does the older comodore VE engine have the same bolt pattern as the new LLT's heads? I don't think an exhaust shop would have header flanges for an LLT laying around if it doesn't line up. And what about emissions? This could all be BS spewing out of my mouth because I'm not all that knowledge worthy but it's what ran through my mind when reading through.

The "older commodore" isn't as old as you think. It uses the LY7, which is the exact same engine as the LLT but with PFI instead of direct injection. Should have the same bolt pattern - otherwise it'll just be a matter of drilling new bolt holes in the existing flange.

And it has provisions for all emissions components.

I'll look into Jet Hot. Do they offer different colors?

Yessir, Color options We got the silver to go with the chrome under the hood, but you could get a color to match your engine cover! I'll probably look into it myself whenever I put together enough scratch to get my car.

id have to see some of their painted headers after a few thousand miles before I bought any. they say they can withstand temps of 1600*F but ive seen hi-temp paint rated to 2500*F that flaked off headers.

Well, I'd be getting the headers done in their sterling extreme coating. The reason I ask about the colors is because I'll be making a custom aluminum intake and I've been looking for a nice flat black thermal coating to keep charge temps down as they pass the radiator.
- Xanthos

P.S. -

@ ZeeTwentyFour

Is their header coating as easy to keep clean as they say it is? This might be a major bonus because I won't have much time for detailing my engine bay...

It would be interesting to see dyno test on custom exhaust for this engine. Considering it's size and the HP output you can bet the existing exhaust already has excellent flow.

the intake you wont have to get in such a high temp coating. it might get hot, but not anywhere as hot as the headers (obviously). my LT1 intake gets rediculously hot. damn cast iron crap. lol have you thought about where you are going to get the intake made? are you going with a sheetmetal one or a CNC'd one?

well, excellent flow at a certain rpm. the exhaust is still being choked by the manifolds and the cats. but it still flows well.

18 rwhp and 13 rwtq from a catback.
- Xanthos

P.S. - Intake as in intake piping. I'll be using the stock intake manifold unless somebody comes out with a top mount supercharger. The only reason I would have the stock intake manifold coated is for appearance.
