Mast Black Label or TX Speed PRC Heads?

Just like the title says. I've been doing some reading on each of these heads but I'd like some input from people who've used them before.

Mast heads would probably be the 255cc and TX Speed are the 260cc version. My car is a bolt-on car with a night fury cam (mods in signature). I want whatever is going to give me more HP gains.

There is also the GMPP heads, and the trickflow genx 255 heads. Best bang for your buck is the GMPP heads. The Mast black label heads will make the most power, but they're about 3k.

I haven't written those off yet and I am aware of the price difference, but right now I'm leaning towards black labels or the TX Speed PRC heads.

Both will be plenty. I run PRC heads with no issues. If I had a ls3 based motor I would do the trick flows IMO.

From a stock casting stand point your talking less than $1000 easily for cnc ported heads exchange. That will be a hard thing to beat for the $$$$!!

If your willing to spend the extra $$ for aftermarket casting then the PRC 255 & PRC 260 is hard to beat. They used altered valve angles & locations for improved flow & clearances all while giving you extra strength for power adders down the road.

We have done several h/c setups with the 235/239 & PRC 260s well past the 525rwhp mark depending on mods around the setup. That being said lots of guys have gone well past 500rwhp with the PRC ported stock exchange heads & had money left in their pocket!!

Jason, do you mind sharing what chamber size you were running on those 525whp setups?

And a mod list.

My immediate goal is to break 500rwhp. But if it's possible, over 520 would be awesome! I'm at 461 right now.

From what I recall there was a pretty big price difference between the Mast and aftermarket PRC casting LS3 heads when I got my PRC heads. Are those Mast heads a little better? Maybe but I just couldn't justify the price difference. I was already paying double the price for a aftermarket casting vs using a ported stock casting so I personally couldn't justify the price difference. If I had a unlimited budget then it would have been Mast all the way. I would recommend that you get hollow intake valves for whatever aftermarket heads you end up with. L92 intake valves are probably the heaviest of all stock LSx heads and the solid valves that any of the aftermarket heads come standard in are heavier than those. For valve train stability and longevity get the hollow valves. You don't want to become another statistic with all the valve train failures. You might look at the Trick Flows as well if and only if they have sorted out the issues with them. As far as the PRC's I would get the 255cc instead of the 260cc but that's just me. The 260 will probably make more peak power but the 255 will have better power through the curve. Also, don't expect a huge increase in power with the aftermarket castings vs using a quality ported stock casting. The only reason I went aftermarket casting was because I had FI in mind for the future so I wanted a thicker deck and the ability for a 6 bolt head.

Mast has 3 versions, a 240cc, 255cc, and 280cc. The 255cc is the same price as the PRC 260s. These are the two that I'm looking at. I know the bump in HP won't be a lot more than a stock CNC head, but 1. I want to break the 500hp mark and 2. I don't know what the future will hold for mods. I want to have myself ready for whatever upgrades I want down the road.
Thank you for the valve train info, I'll have to look into that further.

I wouldn't touch the PRC heads. Shouldn't even be considered an option, even if they were free.
