Post Help me pick a Camshaft.

Well, My lifter and cam did not agree on something, and the Lifter decided to stop rolling and took a bit of material from the intake lobe on #3 cylinder . So now after much heated self arguments and contemplation of selling the car, I want to rebuild.

I will be looking for a Mild Street Cam with a nice chop at idle and with a nice mid range power.

The Cam coming out of the car was put it by the Previous Owner and had it custom ground from comp, with the following specs.

gross valve lift int. .608 exh. .610
duration @ .050 230 239
lobe separation 115.0

I liked this cam but don't exactly want to go back to a comp. Cam, does anyone have any suggestions on a nice Cam, and also will be looking at lifters, push rods, and possibly trunion upgrade or rocker replacement.

You already have JRE tuning it... call Ted up and tell him what you want. I assume he will be dong the re-tune... everybody might as well be on the same page from day one.

dent, I would like to go back to JRE, but am thinking of trying a guy that's local to me here in Saskatchewan, Nothing against Teds ability for tuning cause this car ran flawless until this happened, but want to support local. hence why looking for opinions

I understand, I just figured that even a local guy could put it in and ted could probably dial it in, especially if it is a cam he is very familiar with. I would imagine the price would be right for Ted to do a re-tune.

Are you LS3 or L99?
I stayed with the VVT and really enjoy my SS1 cam from GPI. i believe it is from CamMotion

I had my 2014 1LE cammed 2 weeks ago. BTR Stage 3 in a cam kit from JDP Motorsports. The kit is the way to go... Reliability. Cam, springs, trunyuns, push rods, Melling HV oil pump, timing chain and gear. Had Lingenfelter install and tune. Specifically asked for mild tune so keep best drivability. Love it! Nice chop, not over the top.

Thanks for the opinions guys really appreciate it, I would only really be looking for Cam pushrods trunions, as I have everything else currently in the car including the .660 btr spring kit 3 bolt gear, k5r chain.

Had same issue with my Custom grind Comp cam...Cam Motion Titan 3 is a very nice looking cam off the shelf and gave me some added torque. You sure that your lifters are in good shape?

I went with the BTR stage 2 kit. I don't track the car or anything, just wanted a little lope and good street manners.
