I love the GTR. It looks realy nice and he is very fast. In Germany they were on a highspeed-test together with other supercars (Porsche, Ferrarie, etc.) and the GT-R engine crashed in the 2nd round...
Very small engine with big blowers. nothing more...

Anyone in this thread that says the GT-R is Faster than a Corvette ZR-1 needs a reality check BIG TIME.
wedding dresses custom wedding dresses Everytime they have pitted the two cars against each other the ZR-1 has one so its kind of pointless even compairing the two the Nissan has no advantages over it period. |

Well, I doubt anyone how is arguing that the GTR is a faster car than the ZR1, cause it's not, but what's being debated is the Z06 vs GTR. The Z06 is a faster car in straight line acceleration, hands down, but the GTR has competitive handling against the Z06 on a road course, so it can go either way.
No can can sit here and say the GTR is an overall faster car than the z06, which has more power and weights significantly less. Both great cars, but one clearly superior to the other in regards to performance.

How so? Are you talking straight line or a real course, because as you said, the z06 is faster straight line, but on a course, it's a different case. You may be able to argue that the z06 is faster on a road course, with which I'll kindly disagree, but "clearly superior?" Definitely not

The z06 may be a faster car as far as acceleration goes, but handing goes to the GTR. It's balanced, its extremely fast yet can take corners with ease.

Yeah the original title is a joke and never should of been started. The title should be changed to ZO6 vs GTR. That is the real debate here. There is no GM factory 2010 Camaro that is even going to touch the GTR and the 2 cars should never be compaired because there is no comparison. The SS and GTR are in 2 completely different markets. You might as well titled this tread Dallas Coyboys vs Texas A&M.

The gtr is insanely computer controlled so driver mod is almost taken out of the equation but the GTR does come free with an exploding transmission during launch control lol

BUT the kicker is this little magic boost thing. You don't have to turn a bolt or change a filter on the GT-R to make 540whp/570lbs-ft and run 130mph in the 1320. Really. It's silly. You just plug in a Cobb Accessport and tune it. Then, it's not even a contest. Sure, you can "mod out" anything and go fast, but there's not much in the world that will perform that way without compromise, in any weather. It's really a great car. But, you'll be happy to know that I drive the Camaro way more than the Nissan. There's just something about a V8, rwd muscle car that I love. Burnouts, tire spin, engine revs that sound good, etc. |

At the race the base the ZR1 was faster than the skyline in the 2 mile. It actually wasn't much faster than most of the Camaros there. Maybe 10kms tops.
